World Islamic Economic Forum
An annual platform promoting economic collaboration between Muslim and non-Muslim communities, bringing together world leaders, industry experts, and business professionals.

The project
Maven provided simultaneous interpretation (SI) services for the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF)’s Malaysia-based conferences between 2013 and 2017. WIEF is a leading international platform bringing together heads of state, policymakers, business leaders, and innovators to explore economic collaboration across the Muslim world and beyond.
Our team delivered interpretation coverage for plenaries, breakout sessions, and special forums involving multilingual delegations. Each edition featured complex agendas and overlapping sessions, requiring comprehensive language support to ensure accessibility and engagement for global participants.
Note: There have been no WIEF events since 2017.

The challenge
Interpreter Scheduling & Parallel Coverage – Coordinating a large team across simultaneous sessions required meticulous scheduling to avoid conflicts and ensure consistent presence in each hall.
High-Level Protocols & Requirements – Given the profile of attendees, interpreters needed to meet diplomatic standards, adapt to formal settings, and navigate structured protocol with ease.
Multi-Venue Movement & Logistics – With events spread across large venues, efficient movement of interpreters between sessions was critical to maintain timing and continuity.
